Hiking in Blekinge
Hiking in Blekinge is a fantastic experience, and with Ljuvadal Camping as your starting point, you have several wonderful trails ahead of you. Here are our four favorites. You can reach them all on foot, by bike, or via a short car ride. The Braxa Trail starts right at the campsite, the Sisters' Path is located in Tången (5 km), the Salmon Trail by the Mörrum River (6 km), and Sweden's southernmost wilderness in the Halen nature area is just 15 km away.
Hike the Braxa Trail in the forest surrounding Ljuvadal
The Braxa Trail (Braxaleden) is our very own hiking trail that takes you along Lake Ugglebodasjön and through the lush, beautiful oak forest surrounding the campsite. The red trail is 1 km and the yellow is 1.8 km; both start at the campsite entrance. The blue trail is 600 m and features the "Dog Loop" (Hundrundan), our activity circuit for dogs. If you wish to hike longer distances, we recommend the Salmon Trail along the Mörrum River or the trails in the Halen nature area.

Strengthen body and mind with "Nature-Close Training"
Along the yellow trail, you will find our concept Nature-Close Training—a series of simple exercises designed to strengthen both body and mind. These exercises improve balance, strength, and mobility while providing a moment of mindful presence. We also encourage you to try "forest bathing"—simply stop, breathe, and enjoy the feeling of being in the moment.
The Sisters' Path in the Forest of Diversity
In the small village of Tången, just 5 km from Ljuvadal and 4 km north of Mörrum, three sisters have created a nature path in their own forest. The sisters want to share and showcase the forest's biodiversity. Along the path, there are signs providing information about the area's natural and cultural environment.
The path begins at Tångavägen 50, near the historic cottage environment of Tea’s Torp, where parking for cars or bikes is available. The trail leads north through fields and forests. An old quarry stands as a testament to the stone-cutting industry that was once common here—a time when cobblestones from Blekinge were shipped all over the world. The path is easy to hike and approximately 2 km long.

Hike the Salmon Trail and enjoy the Mörrum River
Experience rushing waters, deep valleys, and cultural history along one of Sweden's most beloved waterways. The Salmon Trail (Laxaleden) along the Mörrum River is part of the larger Blekingeleden and runs between Ebbamåla Bruk at the Småland border almost all the way to the Baltic Sea outlet at Elleholm. The trail is 30 km from north to south and offers occasionally demanding hiking through the nature reserves of Käringahejan, Mörrumsån Valley, and Hönebygget.
The Mörrum River is home to the rare freshwater pearl mussel and is one of Sweden's most species-rich waterways, housing 25 of the country's 52 freshwater fish species. The river is internationally famous for its salmon—anglers from all over the world travel here to try their luck. – fiskare från hela världen reser hit för att pröva fiskelyckan.
Several suspension bridges cross the river, primarily for fishermen, offering you a close-up view of the alternating rapids and calm currents.
Don’t want to hike the entire Salmon Trail?
For those who prefer a shorter walk, we recommend a section north of Mörrum. Park your car or bike at Åkroken Camping, cross the bridge, and follow the blue markings of the Salmon Trail north. Cross the river again at the suspension bridge after about 2.5 km and hike back south on the eastern side of the river to return to the parking area.
Mörrum Cultural Loop – A historic walk
The Mörrum Cultural Loop (Mörrums Kulturslinga), part of the Salmon Trail, starts at the Salmon House (Laxens Hus) in Mörrum. It takes you on a journey through local history, fishing traditions, and biodiversity. Thirteen information signs tell stories of everything from the salmon's life cycle to old fishing methods and the people who lived by the river. The loop is 2 km long and suitable for both adults and children. More than half the distance is wheelchair accessible, making it perfect for strollers and those with limited mobility. Parking is available at Laxens Hus.

Experience Sweden’s southernmost wilderness in Halen
When hiking in Blekinge, the Halen nature area is an absolute must. Located by Lake Halen east of Olofström, it consists of two nature reserves: Pieboda and Halen. The trails offer wonderful nature experiences through forests and along the shoreline. The area is also rich in cultural remains, such as wolf pits and cottage ruins.
There are several trails of varying lengths and difficulties, color-coded for easy navigation. Some elevation changes are significant, so choose a trail based on your hiking ability. Rest areas with benches and several windbreaks are available if you wish to spend a night in the wilderness. Parking is available at multiple locations, including Fritzatorpet, Halen Camping, Blåsegylet, and Rödhult. A specially accessible trail is located around Blåsegylet.
Frickabron – Olofström’s most photographed spot
The Fricka Bridge (Frickabron) is a suspension bridge stretching between two points in Blekinge’s largest lake, Halen. The bridge is 83 meters long and connects the Halen and Pieboda nature reserves. The stunning view of the lake from the bridge is one of the most photographed spots in Olofström and well worth a visit.
